Blueprint of Berlin
History is everywhere in Berlin, across the city you’ll find several impressive monuments that remind us of WWII. Especially the Holocaust Memorial, just next to the city center is imposing and worth paying a visit. Besides these monuments Berlin is a multi-cultural capital. All these different cultures are blended into a very tolerant and open-minded community which brought the city a lot of benefits. For example; no matter wat kind of food you are looking for.. you can find it in Berlin! When it comes to shopping, Berlin is a paradise, almost every global brand has its own store inside the city center of Berlin. During Selvedge Run we’ve visited Berlin and besides the fashion trade show we went to several denim stores to see their collections ourselves. When in Berlin..
DC4
Just outside the city center you’ll find DC4. Not a large store when it comes to square meters, but when measuring quality one of the biggest denim stores in Europe. Above the entrance they placed a sign that says; ‘Japanese denim store’ and we promise you, not a single word is untrue. Every single item you will find at DC4 is made in Japan and made out of the best denim fabrics existing on this planet. DC4 sells some ( in Europe ) hard to get brands such as Oni denim, The flathead, Samurai.
Burg & Schild
For the hardcode denim head Burg & Schild would feel like coming home. Burg & Schild offers an extensive list of brands from around the world and includes both classic and modern reinterpretations of many styles. You’ll find Japanese bands like Iron Heart, Sugar Cane and Warehouse & Co next to popular American brands such as Rogue Territory and 3sixteen.
14 oz.
The founder of 14 0z., Karl-Heinz Müller, is also the founder of the former denim tradeshow Bread & Butter. So we can easily say that 14 oz. is built out of a strong passion for raw denim. Every brand is carefully selected by their exceptional quality, authenticity and style. At 14 oz. they offer a wide selection of denim brands such as Momotaro, Edwin & Tellason. Besides hardcore raw denim brands you’ll find several other brands like Mackintosh, Alden, Red Wing and Filson.
Nudie Jeans repair shop
The Nudie Jeans repair shop is located at just a stone throw away from the crowded Alexanderplatz. This spacious Repair Shop contains a wide variety of the Nudie Jeans collection. When we spoke to the guys of Nudie Jeans they told us that they offer lifelong free repairs on every Nudie raw denim jeans. Well, that’s a hell of a statement!
