Amsterdam Denim Days – Celebrate all things Indigo
Last week, Amsterdam was the center of attention for all those with an indigo heart. The Amsterdam Denim Days brought together professionals and denim heads from all over the world, united by their love for indigo.
The celebration of all things denim kicked off on Monday April 17th with activities throughout the Amsterdam city center. Over 45 stores, ateliers and laundries opened their blue doors and invited the public to share its passion about denim. Many events, such as product launches, seminars, workshops and parties, were organized to celebrate all things blue!
Kingpins Show
On April 19th, the world-famous denim fabric trade show, Kingpins Show opened their doors for professionals from within the denim scene. During the two-day event, the best mills, laundries and agencies from all over the world, demonstrated the latest trends. They showcased their specific techniques and the newest fabrics to buyers, brands and the press. Whether you were looking for a new Japanese denim fabric, a hand-dyed indigo sweat shirt or the best in washings, the Kingpins show had it all! For us, team Robin Denim, Kingpins was the perfect way to look behind the scenes and to chat with the brands we are working with.
Blueprint
Right after the Kingpins Show, Blueprint Festival started on April 21st. The Blueprint Festival is the place for denim fanatics who just loves Denim. With lectures from Shunji Ohashi, also known as the Denim Ninja, and Adriano Goldschmied, a well-respected Denim visionary, Blueprint offered a ton of denim-knowledge up for grabs.
Besides lectures, many popular brands exhibited their latest collections. Tenue de Nîmes gave the opportunity to design and dye a fresh pair of Converse Chuck 70’s and Benzak Denim Developers challenged visitors to play ‘Duck Hunt’ and win crazy prizes. Nudie Jeans opened a pop-up repair shop with their darning artist Michael, who flew all the way from Gothenburg to show his repair skills.
Together with all denim lovers, we look back on an awesome week exploding of Indigo. The Amsterdam Denim Days were a special happening and turned ‘denim capital’ Amsterdam even more blue. We can’t wait for the next Amsterdam Denim Days..
