Lavenham x Blackhorse Lane Ateliers
For AW 17 outerwear specialists Lavenham have teamed up with authentic denim craftsman Blackhorse Lane Ateliers. Both brands share the same integrity for creating high quality garments that offer durability and style.
Blackhorse Lane Ateliers are a newly established London based manufacturer of raw and selvedge denim jeans. Conscious of their carbon footprint, they utilise organic options where possible, without compromising the aesthetic or durability of the finished product. Black Horse Lane Ateliers is more than just a denim brand, they are creating a community, established on three values, namely; Quality, Community and Eco-consciousness.
Lavenham, on the other hand, have been manufacturing outerwear since 1969 in Suffolk, England. They started to make quilted nylon horse rugs and later created matching jackets and gilets. With an unfaltering dedication to providing high quality hand crafted garments that are fit for purpose and unmistakably British.
The Collaboration
The collaboration offers a quilted denim jacket and jeans for both men and women. The jeans as well as the jackets are made of 14 oz. selvedge denim with a gold selvedge ID. The fabric have a Kanto blue shade and is made of 100% cotton. It also features a natural and slubby texture which will fade beautifully over time.
The selvedge denim is quilted in Lavenham’s one inch vertical quilt stitch. The jeans have been beautifully constructed by the skilled technicians at Blackhorse Lane and the jackets have been hand crafted at Lavenham. Commenting on the collaboration Nicky Santomauro, Managing Director of Lavenham said: “We are delighted to be working with Blackhorse Lane Ateliers this season, the newest jean maker in London. Their craftsmanship and quality is second to none, only working with the very best selvedge denim and with a focus on sustainability”.
