Hi my name is Tanawat but most people will just call me “T or Tana”.  I sleep really easily so the only thing that would keep me up is my girlfriends dog. My favourite food would have to be any Thai food. You might think I’m bias but if I was born again (this time not in Thailand) and tried Thai food I think I would still fall in love with it. My favourite place to eat would be a spot in Bangkok called “Eat Thai”, its made up of all the best street food.

Besides watching my jeans fades, I’m really passionate about designing/making clothes through my small business “Nawato“. Where I design, make patterns, cut and sew everything.

  1. Why do you share your outfits? And why Instagram?

When I was young I always looked out for people with cool style so I could dress like them. Now I’m hoping when I share my outfit photos, someone might appreciate it. Nowadays Instagram makes it so easy to share your interests and follow people that like the same things you do. I never knew how big the denim community was until I started using Instagram.

  1. What makes your Instagram feed so special?

I try to be myself as much as possible and put together good outfits. Honestly the main reason why my Instagram feed is special is because my girlfriend takes all my photos. I just do my fading.

  1. Where does your inspiration come from?

I’m mostly inspired by motorcycle wear and military/workwear. Travelling overseas also inspires me a lot.

  1. Where does your love for denim come from? When did it start?

Growing up in Thailand it’s like a rite of passage for young guys to be interested in denim. Everyone wears denim over there even when it’s so hot.

I remember when I was about 12 years old, I bought myself a pair of “red line” which resemble  Levi’s 501 (Thailand replica version). I think they were about $20 and even though I was a size 25 and the smallest size was 28 back then, I somehow made them fit 😂😂

  1. Your top 3 favorite (denim)brands?
  • Stevenson Overalls
  • Rising Sun Co.
  • Freewheelers

I feel like most denim brands put a lot of heart and soul into the making of their products but I think these three appeal to me the most.

  1. What is your favorite accessory?

My favourite accessory would have to be my sunglasses. I feel that wearing accessories like rings and necklaces is cool too but you instantly look even better when you wear the right pair of sunglasses😎😎

  1. What items do you wear the most at the moment?

Lately I picked up a pair of Studio d’Artisan Vietnam War. I’ve only been wearing them for just 4 months so I’m interested to see what is the result will be like.

  1. What is your favorite shop? And what is your favorite webstore?

It would have to be Corlection in Sydney and Yahoo Japan. Lee from Corlection has introduced me to the Japanese raw denim and given me a lot of knowledge about a lot of products and since then we have become good friends. Yahoo Japan is my favorite place to buy things online, where you can get 1st hand or 2nd hand products at reasonable prices.

  1. Do you care about the production process?

For me being a designer and machinist, I do care a lot about production process. Most of the denim products are not cheap and for me to buy it, it has to be worth the money.

  1. What are your dreams for the future?

I want to keep on experimenting with denim, different brands and different cuts. Travel more, meet new people and one day I will go to all the denim carnivals around the world.

And lastly I would like to thank @robindenim for choosing me to be your favourite instagramer and for creating such a great denim community.
