The brands

Indigoskin is established in 2009 by Tuchawee Sonthirati and is based in Bangkok, Thailand. Inspired by the idea to merge premium denim with traditional Thai art, Indigoskin is focused to create well-crafted high quality jeans, made from Japanese selvedge denim. Since their establishment, Indigoskin created many exclusive denim fabrics in collaboration with the well-respected denim mill Collect Co. from Japan.

Denimasa on the other hand, is established in 2006 by Sompob Lorruangsin a.k.a. Bob Lorr in Los Angeles, USA. When we ask Bob about Denimasa’s most important values, he answered; ‘Simplicity, Unity and Balance’. Bob mentioned that his designs should amplify and strengthen the soul of his customers. For the materials, Denimasa only uses high-quality Japanese fabrics and in the near future they will develop their own Thai styled fabric.

The collaboration between Indigoskin and Denimasa is a result of their common passion for Japanese denim, design and details. The jeans are manufactured with vintage machines by Thailand’s top jeans makers.

The Details

The Indigoskin x Denimasa Project jeans, available in a slim and a straight fit, are featuring many typical details from both brands. The embroidery details on the back pockets for example, are including both logos. The left back pocket, displays the Indigoskin ‘Kanok’ logo while the right back pocket features the three-legged crow from Denimasa. Both logos are sewn with a golden thread, which is an Indigoskin signature. The jeans is finished with both Denimasa’s as well as Indigoskin’s hardware.

On the inside of the jeans, they reinforced the yoke with a traditional Thai handwoven fabric, dyed in natural indigo. The leather tab on the right back pocket is a typical Denimasa detail but features a traditional Thai pattern that is part of Indigoskin’s history. The artwork on the leather patch, a woman in a traditional Thai outfit, is especially designed for this collaboration and hot stamped on the Tochigi cow leather patch.

The 17 oz. Indigoskin x Denimasa Project jeans will be available from September 3rd and comes at the price of €225. Head over to Indigoskin’s website for more info about the purchase.
