“Hi, my name is Andreas and I’m a denim head”… ”Hi, Andreas.” Just kidding.
My last name is too long and too complicated 😉 – it starts with an A and ends with a Z and that is the meaning of my IG name @vonabiszett = from A to Z … with all the little things in between.
I live near Düsseldorf in the region of North Rhine Westphalia with my wife and two boys, who are 12 and 18 . Besides spending time with my family, I have a passion for coffee (mostly self-ground and Chemex brewed), hiking in free nature, road biking and watching Netflix. I like soccer, Sushi and Italian food, the latter due to the fact that I’m 50% Italian.

Why do you share your outfits? And why Instagram?
I started IG as a fun fact posting nature shots and industrial style (from time to time I still like posting some nature pics) but when I started posting some denim and boots pics, back in January 2015, the feedback was amazing and so I ‘slipped into this awesome denim community. IG is the easiest way to post a pic and to consequently connect with like-minded people.

What makes your Instagram feed so special?
I think I owe most of my success to the denim heads out there, all these friendly people who like my pics and interact with me and in addition, I probably owe it to the fact, that I try to add a pinch of fun to my posts and make an attempt to respond to each question and comment.

Where does your inspiration come from?
Definitely from all the other great feeds who post pictures of nice outfits and details. There are some really creative minds out there. But I always try to keep my personal touch alive. Sometimes I just come up with a good idea and feel the need to translate it into action.

Where does your love for denim come from? When did it start?
I have been wearing denim for as long as I can remember. To me it has always been the perfect garment. Tough, perfectly combinable and compatible with all the uncertainties of the day – simply a true companion.

Your top 3 favorite (denim)brands?
Well, that’s tough. I’m not a brand-groupie, but I really like the Americana style.
Left Field NYC – a brand with a heritage in American hard working class. Durable, well made and with very nice details (I’m a sucker for details). I like their tees and my denim pants turned into a great faded pair after being worn for some time.
Rogue Territory – a perfect combination of modern style, a classic look and high quality garments (I really love their shirts). I’m curious to see what I can squeeze out of my Dark Stanton’s.
Lee101 – tough as nails and affordable… the epic Stormrider Jacket is a must-have.
P.S. : Red Wing, of course
6. What is your favorite accessory?
Personally, I like to complete my style with bracelets. My Pig & Hen bracelet has already grown onto my wrist. My messenger bag is also a helpful companion and I have a passion for leather products and the patina that evolves over time.
7. Which items do you wear most at the moment?
Currently I mostly wear my Livid Jeans Jone Japan heavy selvage 15.5 oz. and my Rogue Territory Dark Stanton’s combined with a shirt and boots or 70’ s Chucks. I always try to put something serious into my clothes because I like the way they develop over time.

What is your favorite shop? And what is your favorite webstore?
I highly recommend Stuff Fine Goods in Düsseldorf aka @thomas.von.stuff on Instagram. They are nice guys with knowledge and they have a good espresso as well. When shopping online I prefer the Cultizm web store.
-
Do you care about the production process?
Yes, I do. I always try to look behind the scenes and get some info about the company. I want to know how and where they produce, and also about the materials used and the person(s) behind the brand to see if it suits my attitude.
As I have already mentioned I try wearing my clothes for a long time. I think by wearing raw denim and quality goods you already contribute to sustainability and a better environment. Buy less and buy better – even when some of us tend to buy a lot of better goods instead.

What are your dreams for the future?
If I were a beauty queen I would have to say – World Peace – but, to be honest, it’s all about staying healthy and satisfied – for me and my family and of course for all of you guys – and to keep the denim community alive and to be part of it.
