Benzak contest, half-year update – part 1

Over the last six months, fifty men from all over the world wore the same pair of jeans in an attempt to achieve the best fades possible. Six months of wearing, tearing, adventures, and, of course, loads of fun! Now that we are halfway into the competition, it is time for the half-year update of the Benzak x Cultizm x Robin Denim fading contest.

We’ve reached out to all of our participants and asked them to send us a photo of the front and back side of their jeans, and one of their favorite detail. The response was great, and, scrolling through all those photos, we can officially say that the contest jeans ‘fades’ really well. After only six months of wearing, the fades are already quite impressive! Before we are heading over to the fades after a half year of wearing, we want to emphasize our gratefulness to all participants and spectators.

We are grateful for the enthusiasm of all the participants. Their effort in making this contest a success seems to be limitless, and we received much feedback that people enjoy the contest. It also came to our attention that the contest has already dragged some people into the world of raw denim, making them hooked on the magical evolution of jeans. We are absolutely thrilled to hear that this is happening and we hope that more and more people will jump onto the denim train!

With this said, we will now show you the first five halfway updates. Hopefully, you will enjoy them just as much as we do, and don’t hesitate to compliment the wearers in the comments!

Repaired the pockets and washed it once. I wear them every day and cycle a lot so you can see some light spots at the back. I hope there will not be such a hot summer, because it’s getting harder and harder. ( my work buddies are already lounging at me, because they can’t understand what’s going on when you wear raw denim. Especially that you shouldn’t wash them/or to soon) But I don’t care what other people say. It‘s so much fun so far at the battle. Such great results so far.

“My special detail is a small amount of fraying on my left front pocket area where I keep my phone. I actually don’t know how this happened but I first noticed it during my trip to Guam last month. My guess is that it happened due to the high amount of humidity on the island, on top of all the traveling. I find this detail special because, although small, it reminds me of the good times I had on that trip and the pleasant surprises that can come with just normal wear. I’m hoping to see the fraying increase in the coming months – stay tuned!”
