Who is Loyal Stricklin?

Loyal Stricklin is owned and operated by husband and wife team, Michael and Sarah Stricklin, and the brand was established with nothing more than a little passion and determination. A small town success story, the duo started the brand with a clear vision, a couple of hides and a handful of tools. Reflecting on the origin of Loyal Stricklin, Michael and Sarah say that they’ve carefully built the brand on “hard work, late nights, and too many cups of coffee”.

Fast forward a few years and upgrading their workshop space several times, the Loyal Stricklin studio is now located in the bustling Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood of Nashville, also known as ‘Music City’ for obvious reasons. With the help of a small and dedicated team of skilled employees, and by using leathers from the best American and Italian tanneries like Horween and Conceria Tempesti, Michael and Sarah are now heading up an operation that is making some of the best leather accessories on the market.

Next to making leather goods that last, Michael and Sarah wanted to run a company with a lasting social impact. On top of making durable and responsible products from high-quality materials that will last a lifetime, the two wanted to create a legacy of helping their community and the world around them. As a result, Loyal Stricklin is dedicated to giving back and donates 20% of their profits to worthy causes around the world.

The Wayman Jacket

After three years of dreaming about releasing a jacket and after one solid year of development work, Loyal Stricklin released their first denim jacket, the Wayman. The project initially started from the desire to develop a simple chore coat, but ended up as the dream ‘everyday jacket’ of Michael and Sarah. With the release of the Wayman Jacket, Loyal Stricklin is branching out to a whole new range of products, and we’re excited to see where this takes them.

The Wayman Jacket is Loyal Stricklin’s take on a classic denim jacket which has been updated to reflect contemporary life as well as the brands’ signature details and thoughtful approach to design. The jackets are cut in a slim-fit silhouette and feature custom antique brass “LOYAL” branded buttons, keyhole buttonholes, and durable flat felled seams. The Wayman features a pocket on the left chest, two easy-access hidden interior pockets, and has two large hand-warmer pockets on the front.

The Wayman Jacket is available in a black Chromexcel leather (limited to just ten pieces) and three other fantastic fabrics. Buyers can choose from a beautiful 17 oz. brown waxed canvas from the renowned British Millerain in England, a 14 oz. black selvedge denim with charcoal weft from Nihon Menpu in Japan or a 14 oz. redline indigo selvedge denim from Vidalia Mills from the United States. The chosen fabrics differ in origin and color, but are all of an exceptionally high quality and are sure to wear beautifully over time.

Considering the designs, the make and the materials, the Wayman Jacket is quite a debut into denim from this humble leather goods brand. Loyal Stricklin have built these jackets on the same principles they have been making leather accessories for years; hard work, honest craftsmanship and the best materials available. The Wayman in brown waxed canvas is available for $299, while the black selvedge denim and indigo selvedge denim versions are available for $255.
