BDD x CULTIZM x ROBIN DENIM fading contest – Pre-ordering starts in 7 days
Benzak Denim Developers, CULTIZM and Robin Denim partnered up to create a special pair of jeans exclusively for a new fading contest, made from Japanese selvedge denim with amazing fading potential. The fabric is woven by the famous Japanese denim mill Collect, in Okayama, Japan. We have carefully selected this specific 15 oz. fabric for its subtle slubs and great fading potential. The contest will be limited to 50 participants and there will be prizes for the winners up to €1.000 store credits at CULTIZM. Pre-order starts on August 1st, so mark your calendar!
Throughout August, you will be able to pre-order the contest jeans for €199 at CULTIZM. Apart from the jeans, you will also receive a limited edition Contest Tee. The fading contest will last 12 months, starting on November 1st 2017 and it ends on October 31st 2018. During these 12 months, the main goal is to create the best faded pair of jeans the world has ever seen.

Frequently asked questions
Denim fading contest? Can you explain what this is?
Sure! Together with a group of people, you compete in getting the nicest fading results from a pair of raw denim jeans. Usually, everyone wears the same pair of jeans, or at least in the same weight category. Everyone starts wearing the jeans the same day and usually a contest runs for 1 or 2 years. After this, a winner is announced, either by a jury or by vote. To get the best results, and possibly win the contest, you need to wear the jeans A LOT, preferably daily!
Okay, sounds cool, but how can I participate in this contest?
For this contest we designed a special jeans, which will be available for pre-order at CULTIZM from the August 1st till 31st at their web store.
Will this contest be open for contestants outside of Europe?
Yes, of course! We are happy to except contestants from all around the world!
How do I know which size to pick?
We decided to use the B-01 SLIM fit for this contest, this is the most popular BENZAK fit and fits most body types. It’s a modern mid-rise slim fit, which follows a slim silhouette all the way, but provides enough room to feel comfortable in a heavy, non-stretch fabric. The best way to determine your size is to measure a good fitting pair of slim fit jeans (preferably non-stretch) and compare the measurements with the size chart. You can find our ‘how to measure’ guide here. The denim is sanforized so minor shrinkage is expected after wash.
My size is not available; can you produce it for me?
We offer waist sizes 28 till 38 in 4 inseams lengths, but outside of this range we cannot produce unfortunately.
I have placed a pre-order, what happens now?
Your order will go into production in September and will be delivered to your doorstep in the first 2 weeks of October, with enough time left to start with the contest on November 1st.
I received the jeans, but they don’t fit! What can I do now?
We will produce an extra, small batch of jeans to anticipate on this. This means you will have the possibility to exchange your jeans for another size. Please be noted however, that we cannot guarantee availability for exchanges for everyone. Because the jeans are exclusively produced as a pre-order item for this contest, we cannot accept returns and give refunds.
Are there any conditions to participate in this contest?
Yes, every contestant is required to have an Instagram account. On your account you are required to post at least once a month an update of the process of your contest jeans. To make it easier for us to find all picture updates, the hashtag #benzakcontest should be used. Every month we select the 10 best pictures and will be featured on Robin Denim, so make sure to not only wear your jeans hard, but also be creative with the content!
Are there any restrictions on this contest?
Any form of artificial fading, such as sandpapering, bleaching, or any form of industrial denim aging is prohibited. Other than that, you should just wear the hell out of your pair! Of course, you are allowed to wash your jeans at home, don’t worry 😉
Okay let’s cut to the chase.. what can we win?
The top 3 will receive store credit to spend at CULTIZM. This means you can buy anything they have available on their web store. The winners should not be worried about their 2019 wardrobe choices!
1st place: €1.000 CULTIZM store credit
2nd place: €500 CULTIZM store credit
3rd place: €250 CULTIZM store credit
Who will choose the winners?
The winners will be selected by a jury, which consists of an independent board of denim heads. We will announce them in a later stage, but before the contest starts.
When will the winners be announced?
The contest ends on October 31st 2018. After this we will need about 2 weeks to go through all the end results and determine the winners. This will be communicated through ROBIN DENIM.
