Hey All…My Names Benjamin Woodhouse or @clobbercalm as it were these days. (Bens Fine Though) 😉

Im a husband, Dad, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, Nephew and student of that fabric that’s called DENIM!

Yup, I do Family, Friends, Clothes and Beer!

  1. Why do you share your outfits? And why Instagram?

It started because I enjoy having a stab at doing something creative but I no longer have the time I used to have for creative hobbies such as write songs or drawing like I used to back in the day before I found myself firmly situated in the land they call Adulthood!

Instagram on the other hand allows me to slip slices of all my favorite things together in a creative way in only a few minutes so it’s perfect. It keeps the creative juices flowing.

  1. What makes your Instagram feed so special?

Honestly I’m not sure if special is the correct word. Back when I started out I’m pretty sure I had a few Social media “Regrams” from beast companies like Levis and that helped me get the ball rolling. For me personally what I consider special about my feed is it has allowed me to network and get to know people from all over the globe. I’m not a big fan of the Douchebags & Boneheads of the world and I can honestly say I have never come across one in the denim world. The community is great and like your good self Robin I intend to help make it stronger bro!

  1. Where does your inspiration come from?

Hmmmmmm………I think usually I would have answered this on an IG level by mentioning feeds I love to check in on but I did this over on clobbercalm.com recently so I’m going to take this in a slightly different direction. My inspiration comes from colours and the mood/attitude/personality they create when combined in a certain way. Blue for me is calm. Both light and dark (indigo) blue I consider relaxing and I for that reason I’m most comfortable in blue. But at the same time, when you add a mustard or a nice dark burgundy to a denim blue outfit you can instantly achieve that strong Americana look that is adored worldwide by denim enthusiasts. And then moving on from there I see

A Blue/Olive = Vintage military inspired get up,

A Blue/Black = Always propels the Rebel type persona, even more so if the black is a leather jacket,

A Blue white/Off white if slightly looser fitting = traditional Japan style,

The list goes on and on but creating these looks and seeing them either on pinterest or on an IG feed or even on an old film is what inspires me to give that look a go. There is ALWAYS a denim piece in there though.

And Oh yeah – Tan Leather? That goes with the lot!

  1. Where does your love for denim come from? When did it start?

For me its not just denim its things that wear really well and denim is of course one of those things.

Denim/Leather/Canvas/Wood it’s all great. Ive loved watching things patina since a young age. Both my grandfather (now passed) and my dad are smart blokes that appreciate well-fitting clothing and building or “nantling” we call it here in northern England. I spent lots of hours as a child watching my Grandad Woodhouse shape and mould timber so he could build a boat he had designed and now 25 years later my kids love to watch my Dad wood turning and creating his catch all trays or shot glasses etc. (whatever he fancies that day).

  1. Your top 3 favorite (denim)brands?

I think mine are pretty typical but where I am from I didn’t grow up exposed to cool niche brands and although I know lots these days I have not been able to afford as many of them as I would like (there is still time of course) but for now my list has to remain simple.

Levi – Lee – Tellason.

I also have a Big love for Vintage denim as I’m sure at least some of my followers have probably gathered and Robin seen as “vintage” isn’t technically a brand I think I should be allowed to give “Vintage Denim” and honorary mention here 😉

**NOTE**

Since first writing this interview I have taken the decision to jump on the Denim Roller coaster fulltime in the form of a retail store that will be based in the Steel  City of Sheffield England which has given me the opportunity to work with some of the world’s best Denim Brands (in my opinion) such as @RGT @3sixteen @ironheart @fullcount @dawsondenim and many more and I truly cannot wait to try out some of the products these guys produce! I’ve already claimed an RGT Supply jacket for myself 😉

6.     What is your favorite accessory?

I can’t go there on my leather bits if I can only choose 1 item as I have more than one Brother in the leather world so it would have to be between my – Wallet Chain & basic Beanie hat.

Guna have to go Beanie I think. It really is my best buddy when running late on a morning.

  1. Do you care about the production process?

This is one of my favourite parts. With an expert production process comes an expert product.

This process doesn’t come cheap though but it’s for a good & ethical reason. A perfect example of this is one of your latest posts Robin. The one about the transparency of Livid Jeans and there production. If anybody reading this has any questions they should just check back to that post right here. (Link plug there Robin) 😉

  1. What are your dreams for the future?

Simple =  Family, Friends and Work life integration. Let’s Party yeah!
