Benzak contest, half-year update – part 3

Over the last six months, fifty men from all over the world wore the same pair of jeans in an attempt to achieve the best fades possible. Six months of wearing, tearing, adventures, and, of course, loads of fun! Now that we are halfway into the competition, it is time for the half-year update of the Benzak x Cultizm x Robin Denim fading contest.

In addition to the first two parts (which you can find here, and here) of the half-year update, today we will feature five more amazingly faded pairs of jeans. Although we are just halfway down the contest, the results are already quite impressive. It is beautiful to see that the same pair of jeans, made of the same fabric, will fade differently on the legs of all participants. We are looking forward to the next six months, and we are looking forward to seeing fades that we only could have imagined in our dreams.

Guys, for now, please enjoy five more pairs of beautifully faded Benzak x Cultizm x Robin Denim contest jeans.

I have worn the jeans every day since the start of the contest, mostly in the office. It is nice to see that my new wallet is recognizable in the fabric. Two weeks ago, I give this pair of jeans its first wash after cleaning our garden in the beautiful city of Amsterdam. Hereby my pictures…

These pair of Benzak jeans have seen warzones and paradises. It carries the dirt of the desert and the breeze of the seaside. And most important: it carries my lucky coin. Everywhere.
Worn every day -2. One wash, one repair.

Hereby I present to you my pair of Benzak x Cultizm x Robin Denim contest jeans. Now, more than six months after the start of the contest, I have worn this pair of jeans with love, and every day. I have been wearing the jeans as a father of two boys, and as an organic gardener, mostly underneath an overall. This pair of jeans was with me while I was visiting many concerts.

Thanks for the fantastic jeans, and exciting the contest! This pair of jeans opened the world of raw denim for me.

Finally, the half year update.

I’ve attached pictures as per the instructions – getting the right brightness is tricky, and I do believe that the front/back pictures are a little over exposed, but it’s as good as it gets – pictures are hard.

The detail shots are of the patch, which I think have aged well. It’s fun to see that there is much more wear and tear where there is no belt. Also, I’ve included a shot of my left knee fade, which, by far, is the place I have faded the fastest (not including the obligatory phone fade). It’s the classic dad-fade, as my kids has me crawling on my knees a lot.

The whole project, for me, is to see how much the average guy fades a pair of jeans. It’s just everyday wear, work and play, and the occasional skate, nothing too crazy. I’ve washed the jeans a couple of times, and soaked them a few more, and I’m going to wash more because summer is hot and legs get sweaty. Plus, children are messy.

Overall I am enjoying the jeans and the contest, even though I am not the best Instagrammer.
